Abstract. A locality record of Platycerus caprea (De Geer, 1774) from Northern Albania is given; it is the first verified one for the country, due to the existing confusion concerning the old records of the two closely related species of the stag beetles P. caprea and P. caraboides caraboides (Linnaeus, 1758). A locality record for Dorcus parallelipipedus (Linnaeus, 1758) is also given.
